Creating and Managing Ticket Discounts

Discounts let you reward early bookers, run promo code campaigns, and give group or member pricing on your event’s paid tickets. This is for event organizers and their ticketing teams.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you’ll need an event with at least one paid ticket batch set up. Discounts can only be attached to paid tickets.

Creating a New Discount

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Discounts > Create Discount

1. Enter a Discount Name that your team will recognise, such as Diwali Early Bird or College Fest Group of 5.
2. Leave the toggle beside the name switched on to make the discount live, or switch it off to build it now and open it later.
3. Select a Discount Type. Your options depend on your event, and the type you pick decides which fields appear below.
4. Add a short Description if you want a note about why the offer exists.
5. Fill in the Discount Value fields for the type you chose, such as a percentage, a flat rupee amount, or a buy-and-get-free quantity.
6. Enter a Promo Code if you picked a promo-based type. Velora checks availability as you type and confirms when the code is free to use.
7. Select the ticket types under Applicable Ticket Batches that the discount should apply to.
8. Tap Save.

Tip

Percentage offers accept a maximum discount cap. On a wedding or concert with a wide price range, a cap keeps a “20% off” campaign from cutting far more than you planned off your premium tickets.

Next Best Action

After saving your first discount, most organizers:

• For promo campaigns: Share the code by SMS or WhatsApp
• For automatic offers: Preview your public event page

Setting When the Discount Runs

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Discounts > open a discount > Time & Availability

1. Tap Start Date and Time and choose a date, then a time.
2. Tap End Date and Time to close the offer automatically.
3. Enter a Maximum Redemptions number to stop the discount after a set number of orders.
4. Enter a Maximum Discounted Tickets number to stop it after a set number of tickets.
5. Tap Save.

Caution

Start and end times use your device’s local time, and you cannot set a start date in the past. For a sale that should already be running, leave the start date empty where the type allows it.

Adding Cart Conditions

Some discount types show a Quantity / Cart Conditions section where you control how large an order has to be.

1. Enter Minimum Tickets Per Order so the offer only triggers on genuine group bookings.
2. Enter Maximum Eligible Tickets to limit how many tickets in one order get discounted.
3. Enter a Minimum Order Value in ₹ where the field appears.
4. Tap Save.

Tip

For corporate meetups and college fests, a minimum of 5 tickets with a maximum of 10 eligible tickets is a good starting point. It rewards real group bookings without letting one buyer take the whole allocation.

Editing a Discount

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Discounts > tap any discount

The form opens with everything filled in and the heading changes to Update Discount. Change what you need and tap Save. Switching the discount type reshapes the fields below, so review the whole form before saving.

Danger

Changing a value on a live discount affects every order placed from that moment on. Bookings already completed at the old price are not repriced.

Troubleshooting

“Please fix the validation errors” - One or more required fields are empty. Scroll up through the form; required fields are marked with an asterisk and show a red message under them.

“This promo code is already in use” - Another discount on your event uses that code. Promo codes are saved in capital letters, so diwali20 and DIWALI20 count as the same code. Pick a different one.

“Please wait, validating promo code” - Velora is still checking whether the code is free. Wait a second or two, then tap Save again.

No ticket types appear under Applicable Ticket Batches - Discounts only apply to paid tickets. Create at least one paid ticket batch for the event, then reopen the discount form.

The date picker will not let me choose yesterday - Start and end dates cannot be in the past. To run an offer immediately, save it with the status toggle on and leave the start date empty where the type allows it.

“Failed to save discount” - Usually a connection drop or a value the server rejected, such as a percentage above 100. Check your network, review the numbers you entered, and try again.
