Creating a Photo Album on Velora
Section titled “Creating a Photo Album on Velora”The Create Album page lets you set up a new photo album for your event. You can specify the album name, description, cover image, visibility level, upload permissions, and optionally restrict access by roles or specific users. This page also serves as the edit page for existing albums.

Album Form Fields
Section titled “Album Form Fields”| Field | Required | Description |

| Album Name | Yes | Unique name for the album. Duplicate names within the same event are not allowed. |
| Description | No | Optional description of the album contents. |
| Cover Image | No | A cover photo displayed on the album card. Supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, WebP, HEIC, HEIF, TIFF. |
| Visibility | Yes | Controls who can see the album: Public, Protected, or Private. |
| Upload Permission | Yes | Controls who can upload photos: “Only Me” or “Anyone.” |
| Approval Required | Yes | Toggle whether uploaded photos require organizer approval before being visible. Default: On. |
Steps to Create an Album
Section titled “Steps to Create an Album”- Tap the + button on the Album List page.
- Enter a unique Album Name in the name field.
- Optionally add a Description.
- Tap the Cover Image area to upload a photo:
- Select a file from your device (file picker opens).
- The image uploads to the server immediately.
- A preview appears after successful upload.
- Choose a Visibility option by tapping the visibility selector:
- Public — Everyone can see the album.
- Protected — Only verified attendees.
- Private — Only you and event organizers.
- Set the Upload Permission:
- Only Me — Only you can upload photos.
- Anyone — All attendees can upload photos.
- Toggle Approval Required to control whether photos need manual approval.
- Tap Save or Create to finalize the album.

Upload Process
Section titled “Upload Process”- Tap the cover image area.
- The file picker opens (supports both camera and gallery on mobile).
- Select an image.
- The image is uploaded to AWS S3 in the background.
- A loading indicator shows during upload.
- On success, a preview displays and a confirmation message appears: “Cover image uploaded successfully.”
- On failure, an error message explains what went wrong.
Visibility Options
Section titled “Visibility Options”| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Public | Anyone who can view the event can see this album. |
| Protected | Only attendees who have registered/RSVP’d can see the album. Shown as “Protected” badge. |
| Private | Only the album creator and event organizers can see it. |
Upload Permissions
Section titled “Upload Permissions”| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Only Me | Only the album creator can upload photos and videos. |
| Anyone | All users with access to the album can upload media. |
Duplicate Name Validation
Section titled “Duplicate Name Validation”The album name is validated against existing albums in the same event. If you enter a name that already exists:
- A validation error appears below the name field.
- You must choose a different name before saving.
When editing an existing album, its own current name is excluded from the duplicate check.
Editing an Existing Album
Section titled “Editing an Existing Album”When opened in edit mode (from Album Detail):
- All fields are pre-populated with the existing album data.
- The cover image preview shows the current cover.
- Make your changes and tap Save to update.
- The album list and detail pages refresh automatically.
What to Do Next

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting””Duplicate album name” validation error
Section titled “”Duplicate album name” validation error”An album with the same name already exists for this event. Choose a different name. The check is case-insensitive, so “Wedding Photos” and “wedding photos” are considered the same.
Cover image upload fails
Section titled “Cover image upload fails”Check your internet connection. Ensure the image is in a supported format and not too large. The upload goes to AWS S3, so a stable connection is needed. If the error persists, try a different image.
Roles or Users selection shows “Loading…”
Section titled “Roles or Users selection shows “Loading…””Role and user data is fetched from the API. Wait for the loading to complete. On slow connections, this may take a few seconds.
Cannot find the visibility or permission options
Section titled “Cannot find the visibility or permission options”These are shown as tappable selectors that open bottom sheets. Tap the current value (e.g., “Public”) to see all available options.
Album not appearing in the list after creation
Section titled “Album not appearing in the list after creation”The album list should refresh automatically. If it does not appear, pull down to refresh the Album List page. Check if the album was created for the correct event.
