Channel Chat
Channel Chat
Section titled “Channel Chat”Chat with your entire event team, vendor network, or guest group in one organized space. Use channels to keep conversations focused by topic - vendor coordination, guest updates, timeline changes, or budget discussions.
Sending Messages
Section titled “Sending Messages”How to get there: Open Velora > Connect > Select a channel
- Tap the message input field at the bottom of the screen.
- Type your message.
- Tap the Send button (paper plane icon) to post it.
Your message appears immediately in the channel. Team members see a notification based on their preferences.
Adding Attachments
Section titled “Adding Attachments”You can send photos, videos, documents, voice notes, locations, events, and polls - everything you need for smooth coordination.
How to get there: Channel Chat > Message input bar
- Tap the + icon (attachment button) next to the message field.
- Choose your attachment type:
- Camera: Take a photo instantly (venue photos, decor samples)
- Gallery: Upload existing photos or videos
- Video: Pick a video file (vendor demo, guest testimonial)
- Audio: Share an audio file or voice note
- Document: Send PDFs, spreadsheets, or contracts
- Location: Share a map pin (venue address, hotel location)
- Event: Link an event from your Velora calendar
- Poll: Create a quick decision poll (vote on colors, dates, vendors)
- Select your file or content.
- Tap Send when ready.
The attachment uploads and appears in the message thread with a preview.
Reacting to Messages
Section titled “Reacting to Messages”Show quick feedback with emoji reactions without cluttering the chat.
How to get there: Channel Chat > Any message
- Long-press (hold) any message in the channel.
- Tap React from the options sheet.
- Tap an emoji to react (👍, ❤️, 😂, etc.).
- Or tap the + icon to see the full emoji picker.
Your reaction appears below the message. Tap a reaction again to remove it.
Editing or Deleting Messages
Section titled “Editing or Deleting Messages”Made a typo or need to correct details? You can edit your own messages anytime.
How to get there: Channel Chat > Your message
- Long-press the message you sent.
- Choose Edit to update the text, or Delete to remove it.
- For edit: Change the text and tap Send.
- For delete: Confirm in the dialog.
Only you can edit or delete your messages. Team members see “edited” next to updated messages.
Starting a Thread
Section titled “Starting a Thread”Keep detailed discussions organized by starting a thread - a sub-conversation that keeps the main channel clean.
How to get there: Channel Chat > Any message
- Long-press any message.
- Tap Reply in Thread.
- Type your response in the thread panel.
- Tap Send.
The original message shows a reply count. Tap it to see the full thread conversation.
Pinning Important Messages
Section titled “Pinning Important Messages”Pin critical messages (vendor contact, venue address, payment deadline) so your team can find them instantly.
How to get there: Channel Chat > Message options
- Long-press any message.
- Tap Pin.
- The message appears as “pinned” and shows in the Pinned Messages list.
Access pinned messages anytime by tapping the More (⋮) button in the channel header and selecting Pinned Messages.
Searching Messages
Section titled “Searching Messages”Find past conversations, vendor details, or decision notes quickly.
How to get there: Channel Chat > More button > Search
- Type a keyword (vendor name, “deadline”, “color scheme”).
- Results show matching messages with context.
- Tap any result to jump to that message in the channel.
Muting or Archiving a Channel
Section titled “Muting or Archiving a Channel”If a channel’s updates aren’t urgent (a completed vendor discussion or past event), mute or archive it to keep your inbox clean.
How to get there: Channel Chat > More button (⋮)
To mute: Tap Mute Notifications. You stay in the channel but don’t get alerts.
To archive: Tap Archive. The channel moves to your archive and you won’t see it in the main list.
To get archived channels back, go to Connect settings and enable Show Archived.
