Incoming Call

When someone on your event calls you in Velora, a full-screen call notification takes over your device so you can answer or decline in one tap. This works for both audio and video calls from anyone you are chatting with, whether that is a vendor, a co-organizer, or a guest.

How to get there: The call screen appears on its own as soon as someone calls you.

  1. Look at the top of the screen to see the caller’s photo and name.
  2. Check the label below the name: it reads Incoming video call or Incoming audio call, so you know what you are about to join.
  3. Tap the green Accept button to join.
  4. Allow microphone access if your phone asks. For a video call, allow camera access too.
  5. Wait a moment while the call connects, then start talking.

How to get there: The call screen appears on its own as soon as someone calls you.

  1. Tap the red Decline button.
  2. The ringtone stops right away and the caller is told you are unavailable.
  3. You return to whatever you were doing in the app.

Using your phone’s back gesture or back button also declines the call, so there is no way to accidentally leave it ringing in the background.

If you do not tap anything, the call screen closes on its own after about a minute and the call is marked as missed. Nothing is lost: the missed call stays visible in the conversation so you can call back or reply by message when you have a free moment.

  • Starting a call - Place audio or video calls from any conversation.
  • Using call controls - Mute, switch cameras, and end a call.
  • Chatting with vendors and guests - Where your calls and messages live together.
  • Group chats for your event - Keep your whole vendor team in one thread.
  • Notification settings - Make sure calls and messages reach you on time.
  • Managing vendors - Track quotes, contacts, and follow-ups after a call.
  • Your guest list - Update details you collect during a call.

“Nothing happens when I tap Accept” - Your phone is likely waiting on a permission prompt. Allow microphone access (and camera access for video), then tap Accept again. If you blocked it earlier, turn it back on in your phone’s app settings for Velora.

“The call screen disappeared before I could answer” - Unanswered calls close after about a minute and are logged as missed. Open the conversation and call back.

“I can hear the caller but they cannot hear me” - Check that your microphone is not muted and that no other app, such as a recorder or another calling app, is holding the microphone. Close it and call again.

“The caller’s name shows as a long string of characters” - Their profile has not finished loading. Their full name appears once the call connects, or you can view the conversation to confirm who is calling.

“Video is frozen or choppy” - This is almost always the network. Move closer to your WiFi router, switch to mobile data, or continue as an audio call.

“The ringtone keeps playing after I answered” - Fully close and reopen the app. If it happens repeatedly, report it from the help section so the team can look into it.
