Viewing Event Details on Velora

The event detail page is the central place to learn everything about an event before attending. It displays the cover image, dates, venue, description, agenda preview, organizer information, media gallery, venue map, and FAQs. From here you can RSVP, buy tickets, add the event to your calendar, and share it with others.

Home Screen > Events tab > Tap any event card

You can also reach an event detail page via a direct link (e.g., velora.events/events/abc123) or by tapping an event from your Tickets tab.

The event detail page adapts to your screen size:

  • Mobile: Full-width cover image at the top, scrollable content below, sticky action bar at the bottom.
  • Desktop/Web: Two-column layout with main content on the left and a sidebar with status, countdown, calendar, organizer info, and venue map on the right.

The top of the page features a hero cover image with the event name overlaid. A Wishlist (heart) button in the top-right corner lets you save the event so you can come back to it later. Saving is not the same as registering, and there is no separate saved-events list yet, so note the event name if you want to find it again.

  1. Scroll the page to see the full cover image.
  2. Tap the heart icon to add or remove the event from your wishlist.

A colored status chip shows the current state of the event:

StatusMeaning
UpcomingEvent has not started yet
OngoingEvent is currently in progress
Past / CompletedEvent has ended
CanceledEvent was cancelled by the organizer
DraftEvent is not yet published (organizers only)

Two info cards display the event timing and venue:

  • Date & Time — Shows the formatted start date and time.
  • Location — Shows the venue name or address. Tap it to open the location in Google Maps.

For upcoming events, a countdown timer shows the days, hours, and minutes remaining until the event starts. This section only appears when the event status is “Upcoming.”

Tap the Add to Calendar button to save the event to your phone or computer calendar. This creates a calendar entry with the event name, date, time, and location.

The expandable description section shows the organizer’s description of the event. If the text is long, it is truncated with a “Read more” option.

  1. Read the visible portion of the description.
  2. Tap Read more to expand the full text.

If the organizer has added activities to the event, a preview of the agenda appears here. It shows the first few activities with times.

  1. View the agenda preview items.
  2. Tap View All to navigate to the full agenda page.

Displays the organizer’s name and logo. Tap to view the organizer’s profile.

If the organizer has uploaded photos or videos, they appear in a media gallery section. Swipe through the gallery to preview event media.

When the organizer has provided venue coordinates, an interactive map shows the event location with a pin. Tap the map to open it in your maps application for navigation directions.

If the organizer has added frequently asked questions, they appear in an expandable accordion format. Tap any question to reveal the answer.

A sticky action bar at the bottom of the screen shows the primary action:

  • Buy Tickets — When ticket batches are available. The starting price is shown (e.g., “From Rs.500.00” or “FREE”).
  • RSVP Now — When the event requires RSVP but has no ticket batches.
  1. Scroll to see the sticky action bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap Buy Tickets or RSVP Now.
  3. Follow the checkout or RSVP flow to complete your registration.

Tap the Share button (available in the app bar or floating share button) to share the event link via WhatsApp, SMS, email, or any other sharing app on your device.

Section titled “Ticket price shows as FREE but I expected a paid event”

The organizer may have set up free ticket batches alongside paid ones. Check if there are multiple ticket tiers during the checkout process.

Scroll to the very bottom of the page. The sticky action bar appears at the bottom. If the event is in “Past” or “Canceled” status, the booking option may not be available.

The venue map only appears when the organizer has provided GPS coordinates. If only a text address is provided, tap the Location card to search for it in Google Maps.

Pull down on the page to refresh. The app caches event data for performance, and a refresh fetches the latest information from the server.
