Searching Your Conversations

Find any message, channel, or person in your workspace without scrolling through weeks of chat history. Useful when you need that one vendor quote or the venue contact someone shared last month.

Prerequisites

You need to be a member of a workspace with at least one conversation. Search only covers the workspace you currently have open.

Running a Search

How to get there: Open Connect > tap the search icon > Search

1. Tap the search icon from your conversation list.
2. Type your search term into the Search conversations… box.
3. Wait a moment while results appear. Results update as you type, so you do not need to press enter.
4. Scroll through the People, Channels, and Messages sections to find what you need.

Every match is highlighted in colour inside the result, so you can spot the right one at a glance.

Tip

Search for distinctive words rather than common ones. mandap or sangeet finds what you want faster than booking. If you remember a number, try that: 45000 will surface the quote that mentioned ₹45,000.

Narrowing Results with Tabs

How to get there: Search > tab row below the title

1. Tap All to see people, channels, and messages together.
2. Tap Messages to see only what people have written.
3. Tap Channels to see only channel names.
4. Switch tabs at any time. Your search term stays in place and re-runs automatically.

Note

The All tab is the only one that shows people. If you are looking for a teammate or a vendor contact, stay on All.

Opening a Result

How to get there: Search > tap any result card

1. Tap a person to start or continue a direct message with them.
2. Tap a channel to open it. The card shows the workspace name and how many members are in it.
3. Tap a message to jump straight to that message inside its channel.

Message results show the channel, who wrote it, and when, so you can tell two similar messages apart before you tap.

Next Best Action

After finding what you needed, most organizers:

• For a vendor thread: Pin the message in its channel
• For a new contact: Start a direct message

Clearing and Starting Over

How to get there: Search > clear icon in the search box

1. Tap the clear icon at the right of the search box to wipe your term.
2. Type a new term to search again.
3. Tap the back arrow to leave search and return to where you were.

Tip

During a busy wedding week, search the caterer’s name first, then switch to the Messages tab. That trims out channel names and leaves only the actual conversation about the menu.

Troubleshooting

“No results found” - Your term does not match anything in this workspace. Check your spelling, try a shorter word, or switch workspaces if the conversation happened somewhere else.

Results appear then disappear when you switch tabs - Each tab runs its own search. The Messages and Channels tabs do not include people, so a person-only match vanishes when you leave All.

Nothing happens when you tap a message result - Some messages are not linked to a channel you can open, usually because the channel was removed or you no longer have access. Ask a workspace admin to re-add you.

Search feels slow to react - There is a short pause after you stop typing before results load. This keeps the app responsive. Wait a second rather than retyping.

You cannot search at all - You need an open workspace for search to work. Go back, select a workspace, then try again.

Old messages are missing - Search covers only your currently open workspace. If you manage a Diwali event and a wedding in separate workspaces, switch to the right one first.
