Create & Edit Task
Section titled “Create & Edit Task”The Create/Edit Task screen is where you define what needs to be done for your event. Set the title, description, priority, due date, linked activities, and add subtasks to break large tasks into manageable pieces.
How to Get There
Section titled “How to Get There”Creating a New Task
Section titled “Creating a New Task”Task List > Tap the + button
- Open the Task List screen.
- Tap the + (floating action button) at the bottom-right.
- The task form opens in create mode.
Editing an Existing Task
Section titled “Editing an Existing Task”Task List > Tap a task card
- Open the Task List screen.
- Tap the task you want to edit.
- The task form opens pre-filled with the existing data.
Task Form Fields
Section titled “Task Form Fields”| Field | Required | Description |

Working with Subtasks
Section titled “Working with Subtasks”Below the main task form, you see the Subtasks Section:
- Existing subtasks are listed with checkboxes for quick completion toggling
- Tap any subtask to edit it
- Tap Add Subtask to create a new one
- Each subtask can have its own priority, assignee, due date, and attachments
Subtask Activity Validation
Section titled “Subtask Activity Validation”If your parent task is linked to specific activities, subtasks can only be linked to activities that are already on the parent task. This prevents subtasks from referencing activities that the parent task does not cover.
Saving a Task
Section titled “Saving a Task”- Fill in the required fields (at minimum, the title).
- Add any subtasks below.
- Tap Save or the submit button.
- On success:
- A green “Task created successfully” or “Task updated successfully” snackbar appears
- You are navigated back to the Task List
- The list refreshes automatically
Validation
Section titled “Validation”- Subtasks are validated against the parent task’s linked activities. If a subtask references an activity not linked to the parent, you see a warning and the save is blocked.
- The form validates required fields before submission.

| ”Failed to save task” error | Check your internet connection. Also verify that all required fields are filled and valid. |
| Subtask activity warning appears | One of your subtasks references an activity that is not linked to the parent task. Either add the activity to the parent task or remove it from the subtask. |
| Due date picker not opening | Ensure you are tapping the date field. On some devices, the picker takes a moment to render. |
| Task was saved but does not appear in the list | Pull-to-refresh on the Task List screen. The list should update with your new task. |
| Edit screen is blank | The task data may still be loading. Wait a moment for the form to populate. If it stays blank, navigate back and try again. |
