Starred Messages

Star the messages that matter in your event chats - the caterer’s final headcount, the venue’s parking instructions, the mehendi artist’s arrival time - and find them all in one place instead of scrolling back through hundreds of messages.

How to get there: Chat > Starred Messages

  1. Open Starred Messages.
  2. Wait a moment while your starred items load.
  3. Scroll through the list - the messages you starred most recently appear at the top.
  4. Pull down on the list to refresh it if someone on your team has starred something new.

If you have not starred anything yet, you see No starred messages along with a reminder that a long press on any chat message stars it.

Every starred message appears as its own card so you can scan the list quickly.

  • Who sent it - profile photo and name. If the sender is no longer available, the card shows Unknown.
  • Where it came from - a small label under the name showing which part of the event the message belongs to.
  • What it said - the message text. Shared live locations show as a readable label rather than raw map data, and replies show the text that was actually quoted.
  • When you starred it - shown as just now, 12m ago, 5h ago, or 3d ago. Anything older than a week shows the full date, like 18/10/2026.

How to get there: Chat > Starred Messages

  1. Find the card you no longer need.
  2. Swipe the card from right to left.
  3. Release the swipe - the message is unstarred and disappears from the list.

  • Event Chat Basics - how event chats are grouped and who can see them.

  • Managing Your Guest List - where guest headcounts from chat should end up.
  • Vendor Payments and Advances - turn starred price confirmations into tracked payments.
  • SMS and WhatsApp Invitations - broadcast the details you keep repeating in chat.

“No starred messages” when you know you starred some - Pull down on the list to refresh. If they still do not appear, check that you are signed in to the same account you used in the chat.

The list spins and never loads - This usually means a weak connection. Move to better network coverage, then reopen Starred Messages.

A message says “Unknown” instead of a name - The person who sent it has left the event or their profile is unavailable. The message text itself is still accurate.

A star came back after you swiped it away - The removal did not reach the server. Refresh the list and swipe again once you have a stable connection.

You cannot find a starred message in the list - Only messages you have starred appear here. If a teammate starred something in a shared chat, ask them to forward it or star it from the chat yourself.

Swiping does nothing - Start the swipe from the middle of the card and move right to left in one motion. A short or vertical drag scrolls the list instead.
