Preview Your Form Before Sending

See exactly how your form looks to people responding to it. The form preview shows you all your fields, animations, and multi-page navigation in real-time — so you can catch issues before you share it.

What This Does

This screen mirrors the exact respondent experience. Fields marked as “archived for reports” are hidden here, since respondents won’t see them. What you see is what they get.

Review Your Form Layout

How to get there: Your form builder > Preview button

1. Tap the Preview button from your form editor
2. The form opens in a dedicated preview screen with an orange “Preview Mode” badge
3. Scroll through all fields to verify they appear correctly
4. Check that field labels, descriptions, and placeholder text are clear

Pro Tip

Use preview mode on your actual phone, not just in the simulator. Text sizing, button spacing, and keyboard behavior vary by device.

Navigate Multi-Page Forms

If your form has multiple pages (separated by page breaks), you’ll see a progress indicator at the top.

How to get there: Open a form with page breaks in preview mode

1. The progress indicator shows Page X of Y with visual dots
2. Tap the Next button (blue arrow icon) to move forward
3. Tap the Previous button to go back and review earlier pages
4. Completed pages show as solid dots; the current page is highlighted

Next Best Action

After previewing your form:

• For surveys: Publish and share your form
• For event RSVPs: Add form to your event
• For vendor forms: Send form to vendors

Check Field Display

Each field type renders differently — text boxes, dropdowns, date pickers, checkboxes, and rating scales all display as respondents will see them.

How to get there: Open any form in preview mode

1. Review field names, helper text, and instructions
2. For required fields, verify the required indicator (usually an asterisk) is visible
3. Scroll to see all fields on the current page
4. Verify checkbox and radio button options are readable

Event Planning Insight

For wedding forms, test date fields carefully — ensure your deadline date picker doesn’t cut off future dates. For vendor forms, check that long dropdown lists (catering options, décor packages) scroll smoothly.

Test Form Submission

In preview mode, the Submit button is disabled to prevent accidental test submissions. This safeguard keeps your form responses clean.

How to get there: Scroll to the bottom of your form preview

1. Navigate to the last page of your form
2. Tap the Submit button
3. A message appears: “Form submission is disabled in preview mode”
4. Close this message and make any edits needed in the form builder

Important

Preview mode never submits actual responses. To truly test responses, you’ll need to publish the form and submit it yourself, or have a colleague test it.

Troubleshooting

“Form submission is disabled in preview mode” — This is intentional. Preview mode prevents test submissions from being recorded. To submit a real response, publish the form first or ask someone else to fill it out.

Fields look cut off on mobile — Your phone’s screen width might be narrower than expected. Try rotating your device or zooming out slightly. Also check that field containers aren’t set to fixed widths.

Page breaks aren’t showing navigation buttons — If your form is only one page (no page breaks), only the Submit button appears. Add page breaks in the form builder to enable multi-page navigation.

Animations feel slow or laggy — This sometimes happens on older devices. The form itself will perform normally when shared; animations are smooth for most respondents. You can proceed with confidence.
