Channel Info: View & Manage Channel Settings

Section titled “Channel Info: View & Manage Channel Settings”

View detailed information about a channel and control its notification settings, visibility, and lifecycle. This is where you go when you need to mute notifications, pin important channels, or archive channels you no longer use.

How to get there: Open any channel > tap the channel name at the top

  1. Tap the channel name displayed in the header of any active chat
  2. The Channel Info screen opens, showing the channel avatar, name, and type
  3. Scroll down to see the Topic (if one is set), member count, and action buttons

The screen displays:

  • Channel avatar: Visual icon for the channel
  • Channel name: Prefixed with # (e.g., # Wedding Planning)
  • Channel type: Category or purpose (e.g., “Vendor Coordination”)
  • Topic: A brief description of what the channel is for

How to get there: Open any channel > tap the channel name > scroll to Mute Channel or Unmute Channel

  1. Open the Channel Info screen (see above)
  2. Scroll to the Action buttons section
  3. Tap Mute Channel to stop receiving notifications from this channel
  4. To re-enable notifications, tap Unmute Channel

When a channel is muted, you’ll still see new messages when you open it, but you won’t receive push notifications or sound alerts.

How to get there: Open any channel > tap the channel name > scroll to Pin Channel or Unpin Channel

  1. Open the Channel Info screen
  2. Scroll to the Action buttons section
  3. Tap Pin Channel to move it to the top of your channel list
  4. To unpin, tap Unpin Channel

Pinned channels appear at the very top of your channel list for easy access.

How to get there: Open any channel > tap the channel name > tap Members

  1. Open the Channel Info screen
  2. Tap the Members tile showing the member count (e.g., “12 members”)
  3. A member list opens showing everyone in the channel

This is useful for confirming who has access to sensitive channels like “Budget & Payments” or “VIP Guest List.”

How to get there: Open any channel > tap the channel name > scroll to Archive Channel

  1. Open the Channel Info screen
  2. Scroll down and tap Archive Channel
  3. A confirmation dialog appears: “Are you sure you want to archive this channel?”
  4. Tap Archive to confirm

Archived channels are hidden from your main channel list but remain searchable. You can unarchive them later if needed.

How to get there: Open any channel > tap the channel name > scroll to Delete Channel

  1. Open the Channel Info screen
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Channel (shown in red)
  3. A confirmation dialog appears: “This action cannot be undone. Are you sure you want to delete this channel?”
  4. Tap Delete to confirm permanently

Too many notifications during event weekSet up notification schedules to quiet hours

Want to prevent accidental deletesAssign a co-organizer with admin rights to manage critical channels

“Channel not found”: The channel may have been deleted by an admin, or you’ve been removed from it. Ask your event organizer to re-add you.

Can’t see the Delete option: Only channel creators have permission to delete. If you created the channel and still don’t see it, try closing and reopening the channel.

Archived channel still appears in my list: Archived channels may take a few seconds to disappear. Refresh by closing and reopening the Connect tab.

Mute isn’t working and I still get notifications: Check your device’s notification settings for Velora. You may need to allow notifications at the app level first.

Can’t unpin a channel: Some channels (like #general) may be pinned by default. Check with your workspace admin if you need exceptions.
