Create Group

Start a group conversation with multiple team members or event volunteers. This is perfect for coordinating vendors, managing guest list reviews, or keeping your event planning team aligned.

How to get there: Open the Connect tab > Chat section > tap + New Chat > select Create Group

  1. Navigate to the Connect tab at the bottom of your app
  2. Find the Chat section
  3. Look for the + New Chat button or option
  4. Select Create Group from the menu

The group creation screen opens with fields for your group name and member selection.

  1. In the Group Name field, enter a descriptive name (e.g., “Wedding Vendor Coordination”, “Diwali Party Planning”, “Guest List Reviewers”)
  2. Tap elsewhere to move to the next field
  1. In the Search members… field, start typing a person’s name
  2. The member list filters automatically as you type
  3. Tap on a member’s name or the checkbox next to their name to select them
  4. Selected members appear as chips (removable tags) at the top
  1. Review your selected members - they display as chips above the member list
  2. Once you’ve selected at least one member, tap the Create Group button at the bottom
  3. A loading spinner appears while the group is being created
  4. You’re automatically added to the new group and the chat opens

“Select at least one member”: You tried to create a group without adding any members. Go back and select at least one person from the member list by tapping their name or checkbox.

“Failed to create group”: A connection error or server issue occurred. Check your internet connection, go back, and try again. If the problem persists, contact support.

“Members not showing up in search”: The person may not be in your workspace yet. Confirm their name is spelled correctly, or ask your workspace admin to add them as a member first.

Group appears but I can’t type: You may not have permission to send messages in this group. Ask the group creator or workspace admin to check your role and permissions.
