Connect Home

Velora Connect is the real-time messaging center for your event or community. Organize conversations across channels (for announcements and team discussions), direct messages (one-on-one chats), and groups (cohort or vendor coordination)—all in one place with unread badges, smart notifications, and workspace switching.

If you belong to multiple events or communities, each has its own chat workspace. Switch between them instantly to keep conversations separate.

How to get there: Tap the Velora Connect header at the top of the screen

  1. Tap the workspace name or the dropdown arrow next to it
  2. Review the list of all your workspaces (both events and communities)
  3. Tap the workspace you want to open
  4. The chat tabs, conversations, and theme refresh instantly to match that workspace

Connect organizes your chats into five tabs so you can find what you need quickly: Channels, DMs, Groups, Favourites, and Announcements. The Archived tab appears only if you’ve archived conversations.

How to get there: Already on the Connect tab

  1. Scroll the horizontal tab bar to see all conversation types
  2. Tap Channels to see workspace-wide announcements and team discussions (only visible to workspace members)
  3. Tap DMs to see one-on-one conversations with other Velora users
  4. Tap Groups to see cohort chats, vendor coordination groups, or guest coordination spaces
  5. Tap Favourites to see only conversations you’ve starred
  6. Tap Announcements to read official updates from event organizers (workspace-scoped)

Create channels (for your team), DMs (for 1-on-1 chats), or groups (for multi-person coordination) without leaving Connect.

How to get there: Tap the + floating button at the bottom-right

  1. Choose what you want to create:
    • Channel — For workspace announcements or team-wide discussions (admins only in most cases)
    • Direct Message — For private 1-on-1 chats
    • Group — For cohort conversations, vendor lists, or guest sub-groups
  2. Enter the name and any optional details
  3. Tap Create
  4. The conversation opens and is ready for messages
