Edit Community

The Edit Community screen lets you update every aspect of your community after creation — from basic details like name and description to advanced settings like onboarding questions, restricted words, and member permissions.

Home > Communities > [Your Community] > Dashboard > Profile > Edit

  1. Open the Community Profile for your community.
  2. Tap the Edit button (only visible if you have admin permissions).
  3. The Edit Community screen loads with all current data pre-filled.

Update the community name (max 30 characters). This is the primary identifier visible to all members and in search results.

Change who can see and join the community:

VisibilityDescription
PublicAnyone can find and join
PrivateHidden from search, invite only
ProtectedVisible in search, requires approval to join

Tap the profile image to upload a new one. The previous image is replaced.

Tap the cover photo area to upload a new banner image.

Update the community’s contact information:

  • Address Line 1 — Street address or building name
  • City — e.g., Bhilwara, Jaipur, Mumbai
  • State — e.g., Rajasthan, Maharashtra
  • Country — e.g., India
  • Zip Code — e.g., 311001

Toggle to prevent new members from joining. Existing members retain full access.

Toggle to allow or prevent creation of sub-communities under this community.

Add a comma-separated list of words that should be blocked in community posts and discussions. This is useful for maintaining a professional environment.

Example: “spam, gambling, loan, crypto”

Onboarding questions are custom questions that new members must answer when they request to join. This helps admins verify members and collect relevant information.

Each question appears as a card showing:

  • Question title (label)
  • Property name (internal identifier)
  • Input type (Text, Number, Date, DateTime, List, Boolean)
  • Required flag
  • Options (for List type questions)
  1. Tap the Add Question section to expand it.
  2. Fill in the question details:
    • Question Title — What the member sees (e.g., “Employee ID”)
    • Property Name — Internal name (e.g., “employee_id”)
    • Input Type — Choose from Text, Number, Date, DateTime, List, or Boolean
    • Required — Toggle whether the question must be answered
    • Options — For List type, add the available choices
  3. Tap Add to save the question.
  1. Tap the edit icon on an existing question card.
  2. A dialog opens with pre-filled question details.
  3. Modify the title, property name, input type, required flag, or options.
  4. Tap Save to update.
  1. Tap the delete icon on the question card.
  2. A confirmation dialog asks “Are you sure you want to delete this question?”
  3. Tap Delete to confirm or Cancel to keep the question.
  4. A success message appears on deletion.

  1. Review all your edits.
  2. Tap the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
  3. If any required fields are missing, the form highlights them.
  4. On success, you see “Community updated successfully” and are taken back to the previous screen.
  5. On failure, an error message appears — check your input and try again.

The Save button does nothing. Make sure all required fields are filled in. The community name is always required. Check for any validation errors highlighted in red.

Image upload failed. Check your internet connection and ensure the image is under 10 MB in JPG or PNG format. Try again after a few seconds.

I cannot see the Edit screen. You need admin or editor permissions for the community. If you are a regular member, contact the community admin to request edit access.

Onboarding question was deleted by mistake. Deleted questions cannot be recovered. Create a new question with the same details. Any existing answers from members who already responded are preserved in the system.

Restricted words are not being enforced. After saving restricted words, the enforcement applies to new posts only. Existing posts with restricted words are not retroactively filtered. Allow a few moments for the server to apply the changes.
