Message Info
Checking Who Read Your Message
Section titled “Checking Who Read Your Message”Message info shows you exactly who received a message you sent and who has actually opened it, with read times. It is useful when you are chasing confirmations from vendors, your family WhatsApp-style wedding group, or a fest committee channel.
Seeing Read and Delivery Status
Section titled “Seeing Read and Delivery Status”How to get there: Chat > open a conversation > your message > Message info
- Open the conversation that has the message you want to check.
- Find the message you sent.
- Open the message options and select Message info.
- Read the preview card at the top to confirm you are looking at the right message. It shows the message text and the time you sent it.
- Scroll through the status list below the preview.
In a one-to-one chat you see the other person’s name, then a Read row with the exact time they opened it, and a Delivered row confirming the message reached their phone.
In a group or channel you see two sections:
- Read by with a count, listing each person and the time they read it.
- Delivered to with a count, listing everyone who has the message but has not opened it yet.
Nobody appears in both lists. As soon as someone reads the message, they move from Delivered to up into Read by.
Refreshing the Status
Section titled “Refreshing the Status”How to get there: Chat > open a conversation > your message > Message info
- Pull down anywhere on the list.
- Wait for the list to reload.
- Check the Read by count to see whether it has gone up.
Reading the Numbers as an Organizer
Section titled “Reading the Numbers as an Organizer”The counts are a quick health check on your group.
- Read by 2 of 40 an hour after a critical update means the message did not land. Repeat it as a call or SMS.
- A vendor sitting in Delivered to for a full day usually means they are not checking that chat. Move the conversation elsewhere.
- For RSVP chasing, use the Delivered to list as your call list rather than messaging the whole group again.
What to Do Next
Section titled “What to Do Next”| Your Situation | Recommended Next Step |
|---|---|
| Key people have not read a critical update | Send an SMS invitation or alert |
| Vendor is unresponsive in chat | Review your vendor contacts |
| Group is too large to track | Create a smaller channel |
| Guests are not confirming | Track RSVPs on your guest list |
| You need a record of who was told | Screenshot the read list and store it with your event notes |

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“Could not load message info” - The status could not be fetched, usually due to a weak connection. Tap Retry, or pull down to refresh once you are back online.
“No delivery info yet” - The message has just been sent, or nobody has received it yet. Pull down to refresh after a minute.
Read times look wrong - Times are shown in your device’s local time zone. If your phone’s time zone is set incorrectly, every time on this screen shifts with it.
The message preview is missing - This can happen if you reopened the screen from a link or after a page reload. Go back to the conversation and open Message info from the message again.
A group member is missing from both lists - People who joined the group after you sent the message never receive it. Send the update again if they need it.
You cannot find Message info on a message - The screen is only available for messages you sent. You cannot see read status for someone else’s message.
