Channel List

Your channels are where team conversations happen. Whether you’re coordinating with vendors for a wedding, syncing with your event planning committee, or keeping a corporate event team aligned, the Channels screen is your hub for organized communication.

How to get there: Open Velora and tap Channels from your workspace navigation.

The Channels screen shows all active channels you’re a member of. Pinned channels appear at the top, making it easy to prioritize conversations for your most critical events.

How to get there: Channels screen > Search channels… field

  1. Tap the Search channels… field at the top
  2. Type the channel name (for example, “wedding-decor” or “diwali-catering”)
  3. Results filter instantly as you type
  4. Tap a channel to open it
  5. Tap the button to clear your search

How to get there: Channels screen > Long-press any channel tile

When you long-press a channel, a menu appears with these options:

Keeps important channels at the top of your list. Pinned channels stay visible even when you have dozens of conversations.

Stop receiving notifications for a channel without leaving it. Useful when a vendor channel gets chatty but you don’t need real-time updates.

Mark channels as favorites to prioritize them. Your favorites sync across all your devices.

Hides a completed event’s channel from your main list but keeps all messages safe. Useful after a wedding or event wraps up - keep your channel list clean without losing records.

Deletes all messages in this channel. This is permanent and cannot be undone.

Start bulk operations (like archiving several channels at once). Tap channels to select them, then choose your action.

Permanently removes the channel. Only workspace admins can delete channels in most setups.

How to get there: Channels screen > any channel tile

  1. Tap a channel to open it
  2. On mobile, the chat screen opens full-screen
  3. On tablet or web (screen wider than 600px), the conversation preview opens on the right side

New messages appear instantly. Unread message counts show next to the channel name so you never miss vendor confirmations or team updates.

This means either:

  • You haven’t created any channels in your workspace yet
  • You haven’t been added to any channels by an admin

Next step: Ask your workspace admin to create channels or add you to existing ones. Channel names often follow your event structure: wedding-guest-list, vendor-coordination, budget-tracking, etc.

“I can’t see any channels”: You might not be part of a workspace yet, or your workspace admin hasn’t created channels. Contact your admin to verify you’re added to the workspace and that channels exist.

“My search isn’t finding a channel I know exists”: The channel might be archived or you might have been removed from it. Ask your workspace admin to check your membership.

“I deleted a channel by accident”: Deleted channels cannot be recovered. If this was important, contact your workspace admin immediately - they may have a backup or can recreate it.

“Notifications aren’t working for a channel”: Check if the channel is muted (you’ll see a mute icon next to it). Unmute the channel to start receiving notifications again.

“A channel disappeared from my list”: It was likely archived. Check your Archived Channels section to see it again or restore it.

“I’m getting too many notifications”: Mute channels that don’t need real-time alerts, or ask your team to use threads for extended conversations instead of channel-wide mentions.
