Manage Notifications and Alerts

Stay on top of event reminders, chat activity, and mentions so nothing important slips past you.

  • Role: Any signed-in user. Attendees, community members, and organizers all see the same notifications inbox, filtered to activity that involves them.
  • You need to be signed in and joined to at least one community or event, since notifications are generated by activity in your chats and the events you are registered for.
  • Allow notifications for the app when your phone asks. If you declined earlier, you can turn them back on in your phone’s system settings for the app.
  1. Open your notifications inbox. From the Connect area, open Notifications. The app loads your recent activity as soon as the screen opens, so you do not need to refresh manually the first time.

  2. Scan what came in. Each entry shows what happened and when. Recent items show a time such as 2:30 PM, items from earlier in the week show the day name, and anything older than a week shows a short date. The kinds of activity you will see are new messages, mentions of you, reactions to something you posted, and reminders tied to events you are attending.

  3. Narrow the list to mentions. Tap the mentions filter in the top bar to hide everything except messages where someone tagged you directly. Tap it again to go back to the full list. This is the fastest way to find posts that are actually waiting on a reply from you.

  4. Jump straight to the conversation. Tap any notification to open the chat or thread it came from. You land in the right place in the conversation, so you can reply without hunting for it.

  5. Clear what you have handled. Swipe a notification aside to mark it as read and remove it from the list. If you have a backlog, use Mark all read in the top bar to clear everything unread in one action.

  6. Pull down to refresh. If you are waiting on a reply or an organizer announcement, pull down on the list to fetch the latest activity.

The mentions filter looks empty The filter only shows notifications where someone used your @name. If the list comes up empty while the full list has items, no one has tagged you directly. Switch the filter off to see messages, reactions, and reminders again. Note that the filter is a view, not a setting: it resets to the full list the next time you open the inbox.

You do not want alerts overnight or during a session The app does not have its own quiet hours schedule. Use your phone’s Do Not Disturb or Focus mode to silence alerts for a set window. Notifications still arrive and still appear in your inbox while Do Not Disturb is on, so nothing is lost. If you only want a specific conversation to stop pinging you, mute that chat from the conversation itself rather than silencing the whole app.

The unread badge will not go away The badge counts unread notifications. Opening the inbox does not clear it on its own, because entries stay unread until you act on them. Swipe individual items away, or tap Mark all read to reset the count. If the badge still looks wrong, pull down to refresh so the app and the server agree on what you have read.

Notifications will not load If you see a message saying notifications could not be loaded, you are usually offline or on a weak connection. Check your connection and pull down to refresh. Already loaded notifications stay visible even when a refresh fails.

You are getting nothing at all Confirm notifications are allowed for the app in your phone’s system settings, and confirm you are still a member of the community or still registered for the event. Leaving a community stops its chat notifications.
