Active Call

When you are on an audio or video call in Velora, this is the screen you see. Use it to talk with a vendor, a co-organizer, or a whole planning group, and to control your mic, camera, and when the call ends.

How to get there: Chats > open a conversation > start or accept a voice call

  1. Look at the centre of the screen to see the other person’s photo and name.
  2. Watch the ring around their photo, which glows while they are speaking.
  3. Check the timer below the name to see how long the call has been running.
  4. Use the controls along the bottom to mute yourself, switch your audio output, or hang up.

How to get there: Chats > open a conversation > start or accept a video call

  1. View the other person’s video filling the screen.
  2. Find your own camera preview in the small floating tile marked You.
  3. Read the name and call timer along the top of the screen.
  4. Use the bottom controls to mute, turn your camera off, or end the call.

If the other person turns their camera off, their photo appears in the centre with Camera is off below it. Audio keeps working normally.

How to get there: Chats > open a group conversation > start or accept a call

  1. Check the participant count near the top of the screen to see how many people have joined.
  2. Watch the grid to see everyone with their camera on.
  3. Tap your camera control to turn your own video on or off during the call.

How to get there: Any active call screen

  1. Tap the red hang-up button, or tap the back arrow at the top of a video call.
  2. Read the End call confirmation that appears.
  3. Tap Cancel to stay on the call, or End call to disconnect.

“Camera is off” - The other person has turned their camera off, or their camera has not started yet. Ask them to tap their camera control. Audio continues either way.

Your preview tile shows a grey person icon - Your camera has not started. Turn your camera off and on again from the bottom controls, and check that Velora has camera permission in your phone settings.

Your video switches off when you leave the app - Your camera is released whenever the app goes to the background, so the call continues as audio only. Return to Velora and turn your camera back on.

The call drops when you close the app fully - Closing Velora completely disconnects you. Keep the app open in the background during a call.

The back arrow does not leave straight away - It asks you to confirm first, so a stray tap never cuts off a vendor mid-sentence. Tap End call to confirm.

Your preview tile slips behind the bottom controls - Drag it back up towards the middle of the screen.
