Using Your Favourites List

Favourites keeps your most important conversations - the wedding planning group, your caterer’s DM, the announcements channel - in one short list, so you are not scrolling past fifty chats to find them.

Prerequisites

You need to be part of at least one channel, direct message, or group in Connect before anything shows up here.

Finding your favourite conversations

How to get there: Dashboard > Connect > Favourites

1. Open Connect from your dashboard.
2. Tap the Favourites tab.
3. Scroll the list to see your starred channels, direct messages, and groups together.

Each row shows the name, a preview of the last message, and the time it arrived. Messages from today show a clock time like 4:15 PM; anything older shows the date as 12/11.

The list sorts itself by most recent activity, so whoever messaged you last sits at the top.

Note

Channels, one-to-one chats, and groups all share this list. A small tag icon marks a channel, a group icon marks a group, and direct messages show the person’s photo.

Opening a conversation

How to get there: Dashboard > Connect > Favourites

1. Tap any row to jump straight into that conversation.
2. Press and hold a row instead, then tap Open if you prefer opening from the menu.

Tip

During peak wedding week, favourite one thread per vendor category - decor, catering, photography. When the mandap setup runs late, you tap once instead of hunting through your chat list.

Removing something from Favourites

How to get there: Dashboard > Connect > Favourites

1. Swipe a row from right to left to unstar it.
2. Or press and hold the row and tap Remove from Favourites.
3. Look for the confirmation message naming the conversation you removed.

The conversation itself is untouched - only the star goes away. You can still find it in your main chat list and favourite it again later.

Caution

Removing happens as soon as you swipe, with no extra prompt. If you unstar the wrong thread, just open it from your chat list and favourite it again.

Next Best Action

Once your Favourites list is trimmed to what matters, most organizers:

• For large events: Set up a broadcast channel for vendor announcements
• For small events: Message guests directly

Keeping the list fresh

How to get there: Dashboard > Connect > Favourites

1. Pull down on the list to refresh it.
2. Wait for the spinner to finish - new messages and counts update.
3. Tap a photo on any row to see it full size, then tap away to close.

Tip

Refresh before a vendor call. If your venue coordinator replied while you were on the metro with patchy signal, a quick pull-down brings the latest message preview in.

Troubleshooting

“No favourites yet” - Nothing is starred yet. Open a channel, group, or direct message and favourite it, and it appears here.

The list keeps spinning - Your connection dropped mid-load. Check your network and pull down to refresh.

A conversation I removed is still showing - The list may not have caught up. Pull down to refresh and it clears.

A removed conversation came back - Someone else may share the thread, or the removal did not save. Try removing it again after refreshing.

Message previews look out of date - Previews update when the list loads. Pull down to refresh, or open the conversation to see everything.

I cannot find a chat I know I favourited - Confirm you are still a member of that channel or group. Leaving it removes it from this list.
