Create Channel

Start team conversations organized by topic. Channels help you keep discussions focused - whether you’re coordinating vendors, managing guest lists, or organizing logistics for your event.

How to get there: Chat > + Create Channel button

Channels are where your team collaborates. You can create channels for specific tasks (vendor payments, catering timeline) or topics (décor ideas, guest confirmations).

  1. Tap + Create Channel from the chat home screen
  2. Enter a Channel Name (e.g., “Catering Confirmations”, “Décor Ideas”)
    • Minimum 2 characters required
    • Use clear, descriptive names so team members know what the channel is for
  3. (Optional) Add a Topic description to explain the channel’s purpose
    • Example: “Coordinating final headcount with caterers”
  4. Choose your Channel Type:
    • Public: Anyone in your workspace can find and join
    • Private: Only invited members can see this channel
  5. (Optional) Select Add Members to invite people immediately
  6. Tap Create Channel

The channel is now live, and you can start messaging right away.

How to get there: Chat > Create Channel > Channel Type

Your channel’s visibility affects who can access conversations.

Public channels are best for:

  • General announcements (ceremony timing, weather updates)
  • Team brainstorming (color schemes, menu planning)
  • Progress tracking visible to everyone

Private channels are best for:

  • Sensitive negotiations (vendor pricing, guest issues)
  • Leadership decisions (budget adjustments, contingency plans)
  • Confidential guest information

How to get there: Chat > Create Channel > Add Members

You can invite people when creating the channel or add them later.

  1. Scroll to the Add Members section
  2. Tap the Search members field
  3. Type a member’s name to find them
  4. Tap the member’s name or checkbox to select them
    • Selected members show as chips above the search field
    • A counter shows “X selected”
  5. Tap Create Channel to add them all at once
