Managing Archived Conversations
Section titled “Managing Archived Conversations”Your archived conversations in Velora are kept separate from your active chats but remain accessible whenever you need them. This screen lets you browse, review, and restore archived channels, direct messages, and groups all in one place.
View Your Archived Channels
Section titled “View Your Archived Channels”How to get there: Main Chat > Archived > Channels tab
- Tap Archived from your chat navigation
- The Channels tab opens by default
- Scroll through your list of archived channels (marked with # symbol)
- Tap any channel to open it and review the conversation history
If you have no archived channels, you’ll see an empty state with the message “No archived channels.”
View Your Archived Direct Messages
Section titled “View Your Archived Direct Messages”How to get there: Main Chat > Archived > DMs tab
- Tap Archived from your chat navigation
- Tap the DMs tab
- Scroll to find the person you messaged
- Tap their name to open the direct message thread and review past exchanges
This is useful for one-on-one conversations you’ve completed - like finalizing a guest’s dietary preferences with a family member or confirming a vendor’s arrival time.
If you have no archived DMs, the screen shows “No archived DMs.”
View Your Archived Groups
Section titled “View Your Archived Groups”How to get there: Main Chat > Archived > Groups tab
- Tap Archived from your chat navigation
- Tap the Groups tab
- Scroll through archived group conversations
- Tap a group name to see all past messages and decisions made within it
Groups are especially valuable to archive after events finish - wedding planning groups, college fest committees, or corporate meetup organizers can be archived and reopened for reference during next year’s event.
If you have no archived groups, you’ll see “No archived groups.”
Restore an Archived Conversation
Section titled “Restore an Archived Conversation”How to get there: Main Chat > Archived > (any tab)
- Find the conversation you want to restore in whichever tab it’s in (Channels, DMs, or Groups)
- Swipe left on the conversation tile (swipe from right to left)
- Tap the unarchive icon (↶ symbol) that appears
- A confirmation message shows: “[Name] unarchived”
The conversation now returns to your active chat list and sidebar.
Finding a Specific Conversation
Section titled “Finding a Specific Conversation”The Archived screen organizes conversations into three tabs so you can quickly narrow your search:
| Tab | Contains | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Channels | Team or project discussions marked with # | Finding vendor channels, event planning groups |
| DMs | One-on-one messages with individuals | Locating chats with specific guests or vendors |
| Groups | Multi-person group chats | Reviewing past team or committee discussions |
Scroll within each tab to locate the conversation. If the list is long, unarchive frequently-used conversations so they stay in your main chat sidebar.
What to Do Next
Section titled “What to Do Next”| Your Situation | Recommended Next Step |
|---|---|
| Need to discuss event updates with an archived vendor | Unarchive their channel, then send a message |
| Want to reference past guest dietary preferences | Find the archived DM and review the conversation history |
| Planning next year’s event | Unarchive last year’s planning group and re-invite participants |
| Clearing space in your chat sidebar | Archive completed conversations you won’t need daily |

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“I can’t find the conversation I archived”: Swipe down to refresh the archived list, or check all three tabs (Channels, DMs, Groups). Conversations may be in a different category than you expect.
“Swiping left didn’t show the unarchive option”: Make sure you’re swiping from right to left (the direction of the arrow). If it still doesn’t work, try a slower, deliberate swipe.
“The screen shows a loading spinner but no conversations appear”: The app is fetching your archived items. Wait 2–3 seconds. If it still shows the spinner, close the Archived screen and reopen it.
“I unarchived a conversation by mistake”: Archive it again immediately. Your chat history remains intact; archiving just hides it from your main sidebar.
