Message Requests
Message Requests
Section titled “Message Requests”When someone you have never chatted with sends you a message, or adds you to a group, it lands in Message Requests instead of your main inbox. This keeps your chats clean during busy periods like a wedding week or a fest registration rush.
Reviewing your pending requests
Section titled “Reviewing your pending requests”How to get there: Connect > Message Requests
- Open Connect from the bottom navigation.
- Tap Message Requests.
- Scroll the list to see who is waiting. Each row shows the sender’s photo, their name, a preview of what they sent, and when it arrived.
- Pull down on the list to refresh it if you are expecting something new.
Group invites look slightly different: the row leads with the group’s name, and the line underneath tells you who added you, for example Priya added you to this group.
Reading a request before you decide
Section titled “Reading a request before you decide”- Tap anywhere on the row (not on the buttons) to open it.
- Read the full conversation, or preview the group and see what it is about.
- Tap the back arrow to return to your requests.
Opening a request does not accept it. The sender is not added to your chats until you tap Accept.
Accepting a request
Section titled “Accepting a request”- Find the request you want to allow.
- Tap Accept.
- The chat opens straight away, and from now on it lives in your normal Chats list.
For a group invite, tapping Accept joins the group and opens it. It then shows up with your other groups.
Deleting a request
Section titled “Deleting a request”- Tap Delete on the request you do not want.
- The row disappears from your list.
The sender is not told that you deleted it. They can still write again later, and the new message returns to this screen.
Blocking a sender
Section titled “Blocking a sender”- Tap Block on the request.
- Read the confirmation message that appears.
- Tap Block again to confirm, or Cancel to back out.
Blocked people cannot message you, and the request is removed at the same time. You will see a short confirmation at the bottom of the screen.

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“Could not accept request” - The request could not be opened up into a full chat, usually because of a weak connection. Pull down to refresh and tap Accept again.
“Could not delete request” - The same connection issue. Refresh the list and retry; if the row already vanished, it worked.
“No message requests” - Nothing is pending. New requests land here on their own, so there is nothing to do.
A sender shows as Unknown - Their profile details have not loaded or their account has no name set. Open the request to read what they sent before deciding.
Message Requests is missing from Connect - The tab only appears while you have pending requests. Once you clear them all, it hides itself.
An accepted chat is not in your Chats list yet - Give it a moment and pull down to refresh your chats. The conversation is not lost.
