Organizing Booths with Categories

Categories let you group the booths at your event and colour-code them on your event map. Use them to keep a large floor plan readable for your team, your vendors, and your guests.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you’ll need an event with a booth layout you’re building out.

Viewing your categories

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Booths > Categories

1. Open the event you’re working on.
2. Tap Booths, then open Categories.
3. Scroll the grid to see every category you’ve created.

The number badge beside the Categories heading shows how many categories the event currently has. Each tile in the grid represents one category, with the colour it uses on your map.

Note

Categories belong to a single event. A wedding and a Diwali mela running from the same account keep their own separate category lists, so nothing gets mixed up.

Tip

On a tablet or desktop browser you’ll see more tiles per row than on a phone. If you’re doing a big setup session before a college fest, the wider screen saves a lot of scrolling.

Creating a category

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Booths > Categories

1. Tap the + button in the bottom-right corner.
2. Fill in the category details on the form that opens.
3. Save to add it to your list.

Tip

Name categories the way your on-ground team already talks. Food & Beverage, Sponsors, Mehendi & Styling, and Registration beat abstract labels like “Zone A” when a volunteer is trying to find something at 9 AM.

Tip

Pick strongly contrasting colours for categories that sit next to each other on the floor plan. Two similar shades of orange look identical on a phone screen in bright daylight.

Next Best Action

After your first few categories exist, most organizers:

• For large venues: Paint your event map so each zone is colour-coded
• For vendor-heavy events: Add booths and assign vendors

Editing a category

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Booths > Categories

1. Find the category you want to change in the grid.
2. Tap its tile to open it.
3. Update the name, colour, or other details.
4. Save your changes.

Caution

Changing a category’s colour also changes how every booth in that category appears on your map. If you’ve already shared a printed or exported map with vendors, share the updated version too.

Finding a category quickly

How to get there: Dashboard > your event > Booths > Categories

1. Tap the Search categories box near the top.
2. Type part of the category name.
3. Tap the ✕ in the search box to clear it and see the full list again.

Tip

For a big wedding with 40+ stalls, search beats scrolling. Type food to jump straight to your catering-related categories.

Troubleshooting

“No categories yet.” - This event doesn’t have any categories. Tap the + button in the bottom-right corner to create your first one.

“No matching categories.” - Your search doesn’t match any category name. Check the spelling, try a shorter word, or tap the ✕ in the search box to clear it.

The list keeps spinning - The app is still fetching your categories. Check your internet connection, then close and reopen the screen if the spinner doesn’t clear.

An error message appears instead of the grid - Your categories couldn’t be loaded. Pull down to refresh, or leave the screen and come back. If it persists, sign out and sign back in.

Categories from another event are missing - Categories are per-event. Switch to the other event from your dashboard and open its Categories screen.

A new category doesn’t appear - Pull down on the grid to refresh the list.
