Announcement Feed

The Announcement Feed is your dedicated space to share official updates with everyone in your event or community. Whether it’s a venue change, schedule update, or important reminder, announcements reach all attendees, crew, and members instantly.

Prerequisites

Before you can view or post announcements, you’ll need an active event or community workspace.

Viewing Announcements

How to get there: Dashboard > Announcements tab

1. Open your event or community workspace.
2. Tap the Announcements tab to see all official updates.
3. Scroll through the list to read announcements posted by organizers and admins.

Announcements appear with the poster’s name, the date they were published, and a preview of the message. If you haven’t read an announcement yet, it shows a blue dot next to it.

Time Formatting

The app shows timestamps smartly — recent updates display as “2:30 PM”, older ones as day names (“Mon”), and older still as dates (“15/3”). This helps you see at a glance what’s fresh.

Searching Announcements

How to get there: Dashboard > Announcements tab

1. Tap the search field at the top (“Search announcements…”).
2. Type keywords from the announcement title or content.
3. Results filter in real-time as you type.
4. Tap the clear (✕) icon to reset your search.

This is especially useful for large events with many updates — quickly find that venue change or schedule detail without scrolling.

Posting an Announcement (Organizers & Admins)

How to get there: Dashboard > Announcements tab > Post button

Only event/community owners and admins can post announcements. If you have permission:

1. Tap the Post button in the Announcements header.
2. Enter your announcement title and content.
3. Tap Publish to send it to all attendees, crew, and members.

Your announcement appears at the top of the feed immediately.

Announcement Best Practices

• Keep it clear: Use a specific title like “Venue Changed to Grand Ballroom” not “Update”.
• Post early: Give attendees time to see important changes — at least 24 hours before the event if possible.
• One topic per announcement: Avoid mixing venue, schedule, and parking info in one post.
• Mention who needs to act: “Crew, please arrive by 10 AM” is clearer than a generic message.

Next Best Action

After posting your first announcement, most organizers:

• For events: Send reminder notifications to ensure attendees see the update
• For communities: Pin important announcements so they stay visible

Marking Announcements as Read

When you open an announcement to read it fully, it automatically marks as read. The blue dot disappears from the feed.

If you want to track unread announcements:

• Scroll the feed to see which items still have a blue dot.
• Any announcement without a dot is already read.

Handling Connection Issues

“Failed to load announcements” — Your device lost connection to the internet or the server is temporarily unavailable.

• Check your WiFi or mobile data connection.
• Tap Retry to reload the announcements.
• If the error persists, try pulling down to refresh the list or close and reopen the app.

“No announcements found” — Either your search term doesn’t match any posts, or no one has posted yet.

• If searching, try different keywords or clear the search field to see all announcements.
• If the feed is empty and you’re an organizer, tap Post in the Announcements header to create the first announcement.

Announcements not updating — The feed may be cached on your device.

• Pull down on the announcements list to refresh.
• Close the app completely and reopen it.

For Large Events

If your event has hundreds of attendees and many announcements, use the search feature to find specific topics. This is much faster than scrolling for a particular update.
