Choose Your Role
Section titled “Choose Your Role”After creating your account, Velora presents the Role Selection screen. This is where you tell Velora what you plan to do on the platform so it can tailor the experience for you.
How to Get There
Section titled “How to Get There”Create account > Complete sign-up > Role Selection screen appears automatically
The Role Selection screen appears immediately after your account is created and approved. If you skipped it earlier, you can complete it later from your profile settings.
Understanding the Roles
Section titled “Understanding the Roles”Velora loads available roles dynamically, so you see only the roles that are currently active on the platform. Here are the most common ones:
Event Organiser
Section titled “Event Organiser”Best for: Wedding planners, corporate event managers, community leaders, college fest coordinators
This role unlocks:
- Event creation and management tools
- Ticketing and registration setup
- Guest list management
- Photo album and slideshow features
- Games and entertainment tools for events
- Analytics and reporting dashboard
Vendor / Supplier
Section titled “Vendor / Supplier”Best for: Caterers, decorators, photographers, DJs, venue owners
This role unlocks:
- Vendor profile visible to event organisers
- Service listing and portfolio showcase
- Booking management tools
Attendee / Guest
Section titled “Attendee / Guest”Best for: People who primarily attend events rather than organise them
This role unlocks:
- Event discovery and browsing
- RSVP and ticket purchasing
- Photo recognition (find photos of yourself from events)
- Social features and community participation
Speaker / Presenter
Section titled “Speaker / Presenter”Best for: Conference speakers, workshop facilitators, panelists
This role unlocks:
- Speaker profile and bio management
- Session scheduling coordination
- Presentation tools
How to Select Your Role
Section titled “How to Select Your Role”- Review the available role cards on the screen. Each card shows the role name, an icon, and the number of steps required to complete the setup.
- Tap the role card that best describes what you want to do on Velora.
- Velora opens the profile setup wizard for that role (see Complete Your Profile).
Skipping Role Selection
Section titled “Skipping Role Selection”If you are not ready to commit to a role just yet:
- Tap the Skip for now button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- A confirmation dialog asks: “Skip Onboarding? You can always complete your onboarding later from profile.”
- Tap Skip to confirm, or Cancel to go back to the role selection.
When you skip, Velora takes you to the main app with basic functionality. You can return to role selection from your profile settings at any time.
What Each Role Card Shows
Section titled “What Each Role Card Shows”| Element | Description |

| Role icon | A visual indicator matching the role type (calendar for organisers, store for vendors, etc.) |
| Role name | The title of the role (e.g., “Event Organizer”) |
| Step count | How many setup steps are required (e.g., “3 steps to complete”) |
| Arrow icon | Indicates you can tap to proceed |
On tablet and desktop, role cards are displayed in a two-column grid. On mobile, they stack vertically for easy scrolling.
Resuming a Partially Completed Role Setup
Section titled “Resuming a Partially Completed Role Setup”If you started setting up a role but did not finish:
- Return to the Role Selection screen from your profile.
- Tap the same role card again.
- Velora checks for an existing session and resumes from where you left off. You will see a blue notification: “Resuming from where you left off…”
Your previously entered data is preserved — no need to start over.
What to Do Next

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”I do not see any roles on the screen. This usually means the role data could not be loaded from the server. Check your internet connection and pull down to refresh. If the problem persists, close the app and reopen it.
I selected the wrong role — can I change it? Yes. You can go back and select a different role, or add additional roles from your profile settings later. Your existing role setup is not deleted.
The role setup wizard is showing fields I do not understand. Each role has different setup requirements. If a field is unclear, you can skip optional fields and come back to them later. Required fields are marked and cannot be skipped.
I tapped Skip and now I cannot find the role selection screen. Go to Profile > Settings or look for an “Complete your profile” prompt on your home page. Velora periodically reminds you to finish your onboarding.
