Sharing Media, Links and Documents in a Chat

Section titled “Sharing Media, Links and Documents in a Chat”

Every conversation in Velora quietly collects the things people send: the venue photos, the caterer’s quote, the Google Maps pin for the mehendi. This screen gathers all of it in one place so you never have to scroll back through weeks of messages to find a file.

How to get there: Chat > open a conversation > conversation options > Media, links and docs

  1. Open the conversation you want to search.
  2. Open the conversation header or options.
  3. Tap Media, links and docs.
  4. Choose a tab: Media, Links or Docs.

The title bar shows the conversation name so you always know which chat you are looking at. Tap the back arrow to return.

How to get there: Media, links and docs > Media

  1. Tap the Media tab.
  2. Scroll the grid of thumbnails. Newer items appear first.
  3. Look for the small play badge in the corner: that marks a video.
  4. Tap any thumbnail to open the photo or video full size.

Voice notes and audio files appear here too, shown as a headphone tile with the file name instead of a picture. Tap one to play it.

A count at the bottom tells you how many items are loaded. As you scroll to the end, more load automatically.

How to get there: Media, links and docs > Links

  1. Tap the Links tab.
  2. Scan the cards. Each shows the page title, the website it came from and a preview image where available.
  3. Tap View message at the bottom of a card to open that link.

How to get there: Media, links and docs > Docs

  1. Tap the Docs tab.
  2. Read down the list. Each row shows the file name, its size, who sent it and the date.
  3. Use the icon on the left to spot the file type at a glance: PDF, document, spreadsheet, slide deck, zip folder or plain text.
  4. Tap a row to open the file.

  • Notification Settings - Get alerted when someone shares a new file.

“No media yet” - Nobody has shared a photo, video or audio file in this conversation. Check that you are in the right chat, then ask for the file in the conversation itself.

“No links yet” - No web links have been shared here. Links only appear once someone sends an actual web address in a message.

“No documents yet” - No files have been shared in this conversation. Photos and videos live under the Media tab, not here, so check there too.

A thumbnail shows a broken image icon - The preview could not load, usually because of a weak connection. Switch to a stronger network and reopen the screen; tapping the tile often still opens the full file.

Tapping a file does nothing - The file opens in another app on your phone. If nothing happens, you may not have an app installed that can read that file type. Install a PDF or documents viewer and try again.

The list stops loading as you scroll - Older items load in batches as you reach the bottom. On a slow connection, pause for a moment and scroll again to fetch the next batch.
