Participate in Community Activities
Section titled “Participate in Community Activities”Find communities that match your interests, join them, and take part in the events and conversations happening inside.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”You need a Velora account and to be signed in. No organizer or admin rights are required. As a community member or guest you can browse communities, join the ones open to you, view their events, RSVP, and chat in their channels. Creating events, editing community details, and approving members are organizer tasks and will not be available to you.
Some communities ask you to complete a short registration form before your membership is active. Have basic details ready (name, contact email, and any information the community asks for, such as a membership or reference number).
Step by step
Section titled “Step by step”-
Browse the community directory. When you open the app you land on the list of top level communities. Each card shows the community name, a short description, and whether you have already joined. Use the search box to filter by name if the list is long, and pull down to refresh if something looks out of date.

Open a community and review its sub-communities. Tapping a community you have joined takes you into it. Larger communities are split into sub-communities, shown with a count so you can see how many there are. Long descriptions are shortened, so use Read More to see the full text before deciding. Communities you have already joined are marked, so you can tell at a glance where you are a member and where you are not.

Join what you want to take part in. Choosing a community or sub-community you are not yet a member of starts the join flow. If a registration form is required, fill it in and submit it. Once you are a member, the same card takes you straight into that community’s home instead of the join flow.

Take part. Inside a community you can see its upcoming events, RSVP to the ones you want to attend, and post in its discussion channels. Membership is per community, so joining a sub-community gives you access to that group’s own events and conversations, not just the parent community’s.

Return to your groups. The Groups area collects the communities and sub-communities you belong to, so you can get back to an active discussion or event without searching the directory again.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”I can see a community but cannot post, create an event, or invite people. Those actions belong to organizers, admins, and community owners. As a member you can view, RSVP, and chat. If you need organizer access, ask an existing organizer in that community to change your role.
I joined but the community still shows as “not joined.” Membership can take a moment to appear, especially right after you submit a registration form or if the community reviews new members before approving them. Pull down to refresh the list. If it still looks wrong after a refresh, sign out and back in so your membership details reload.
My role changed but the app still behaves as before. Role changes are picked up when your account details refresh. Leave the community screen and come back, or sign out and in again. After that, any newly granted abilities appear and any removed ones disappear. The same applies in reverse: if your organizer rights are removed, those options stop showing.
I signed in specifically to join a community and landed somewhere unexpected. If you tapped a shared community link and signed in from there, the app sends you straight to that community after login: into it if you are already a member, or into the join flow if you are not. If you land on the main directory instead, search for the community by name and open it from there.
I am not getting notified about activity. Notifications cover the communities you belong to. If a community is quiet, check that you actually joined it rather than only viewed it, and confirm notifications are enabled for the app in your device settings. Leaving a community stops its notifications.
A community I expected is missing from the list. The main directory shows top level communities only. Smaller groups usually live as sub-communities inside a parent, so open the most likely parent and check its sub-community list.
