Sign In, Sign Up, and First Launch
Sign In, Sign Up, and First Launch
Section titled “Sign In, Sign Up, and First Launch”Create an account or sign in, verify who you are, and land on the home screen that matches your role.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- You need either an email address or a mobile number you can receive messages on. The verification code is sent to whichever one you sign up with, so pick one you have access to right now.
- No role is required to begin. You choose your account type during sign-up, and that choice determines where you land afterwards.
- If someone sent you an invitation link, open the app through that link. The invitation is applied to your new account automatically as you finish signing up.
Step by step
Section titled “Step by step”-
Open the app and choose a starting point. The welcome screen offers two paths: Get Started to create a new account, or I have an account to sign in. Existing users who are already signed in skip this screen entirely and go straight to their home screen.
-
Sign in, if you already have an account. Enter your email address or your mobile number in the same field - the app works out which one you typed and adjusts itself, including the country code for phone numbers. Depending on how your account was set up, you will either enter your password or receive a one-time code. If you have forgotten your password, use the Forgot password link to reset it before continuing. If any social sign-in options are shown, choosing one hands the sign-in to that provider and returns you to the app once it succeeds.
-
Enter your details to create a new account. Give your name and the email address or mobile number you want to use. This becomes the contact the app verifies and the one you sign in with later.
-
Verify your contact. A six-digit code arrives at the email or number you entered. Enter all six digits to confirm it is really you. Codes sent by message may arrive on WhatsApp, so check there too if you are expecting an SMS. Once verified, you are signed in - you do not need to sign in again separately.
-
Choose your account type. Pick the kind of account you want: attending events, organising them, or joining a community. Each type asks for a slightly different set of details, so the choice shapes the rest of sign-up.
-
Complete the sign-up questions. These are presented a few at a time across several short steps. Your answers are saved as you move forward, so you can leave and come back without starting over.
-
Land on your home screen. A confirmation screen tells you that you are all set and confirms where your confirmation email was sent. From there the app takes you to the home screen for your account type: browsing and registering for events, managing your own events, or your community spaces.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”The code expired before I entered it. Codes are only valid for a short window. If you see a message saying your code has expired, tap Resend to get a fresh one and enter that instead. The old code stops working as soon as a new one is issued.
The code never arrived. Check spam or junk folders for email, and check WhatsApp as well as SMS for mobile. If nothing arrives after a minute or so, tap Resend. If it still does not arrive, go back and confirm the address or number you entered has no typos.
I entered the wrong code. You are told the code is invalid and can try again in place - nothing else is lost. Clear the digits and re-enter carefully.
I closed the app partway through sign-up. Reopen it and sign in. You are told the app is resuming from where you left off and dropped back at the first step you had not completed.
Some of my account type options are missing. The list of account types is loaded when the screen opens. If it fails, you see an error rather than an empty list - close and reopen the screen while connected to the internet.
My account says it is pending approval. Some account types are reviewed before they are fully active. You can still sign in; a confirmation email goes to the address on your account, and full access opens once the review completes.
I landed on the wrong home screen. The home screen follows the account type you chose during sign-up. If it does not match what you expected, contact support rather than creating a second account with the same email or number.
