Joining the Club: Membership Categories and Eligibility

The Membership page explains what club membership involves: the benefits, who the club looks for, and how the membership categories compare. It is for anyone in the community thinking about joining, and for members guiding a prospective applicant through the process.

Applications are not accepted online yet

The Apply Now form on this page is not connected to the club, so anything you type into it does not reach anyone and nobody will contact you about it. To register your interest, use the club’s own phone number or email address, or speak to a member at a meeting.

You do not need an account to read this page. Anyone visiting the club site can see the benefits, eligibility, and categories.

Understand What Membership Offers

How to get there: Club site > Membership

1. Open the Membership page from the club site menu.
2. Read Why Join Lions? to see the four main benefits: community impact, the global network, leadership growth, and friendships.
3. Scroll to Eligibility to check the four things the club looks for.
4. Continue to Membership Categories to compare the options side by side.

Tip

The eligibility list notes that a sponsor is helpful but not mandatory. If you do not know a member yet, get in touch anyway and say so when you contact the club.

Compare Membership Categories

How to get there: Club site > Membership > Membership Categories

1. Scroll to the Membership Categories cards.
2. Read each card’s title, description, and listed benefits.
3. Check the fee shown on a card, where one applies.
4. Look for the Most Popular badge, which marks the category the club recommends for new joiners.

Tip

On a phone the cards stack one below the other, so scroll all the way down before deciding. On a tablet or desktop you see all three together, which makes comparing fees easier.

1. Read step 1 - Express Interest: contact the club directly to say you would like to join.
2. Read step 2 - Meet the Club: attend a meeting as a guest first.
3. Read step 3 - Get Sponsored: an existing member sponsors your application.
4. Read step 4 - Welcome!: complete induction and collect your membership kit.

Before you approach the club, most people:

• New to the club: Browse upcoming club events and attend one as a guest
• Already know a member: Ask them to sponsor you and put your name forward at a meeting

Register Your Interest

How to get there: Club site > Membership

There is no online application yet. To be considered for membership:

1. Note the category you are interested in from the Membership Categories cards.
2. Contact the club using the phone number or email address on the club site.
3. Say which category you want and mention any member who is willing to sponsor you.
4. Ask when the next meeting is, so you can attend once as a guest.

Tip

Mention any festival or drive you have already helped with - a Diwali collection, a blood donation camp, a college fest stall. It gives the club an easy first conversation with you.

Troubleshooting

I filled in the Apply Now form and nobody contacted me - The form is not connected to the club yet, so nothing you enter is sent or saved, even though it shows a thank-you message. Contact the club directly using the phone number or email address on the club site.

No fee is shown on a category - Some categories carry no fee. Ask the club directly if you need the exact amount.

The category cards look cramped - Turn your phone to landscape or open the club site on a larger screen to see the categories side by side.
