Displaying Your Event on a TV or Projector

The presentation screen turns any TV, projector, or large display into the shared screen your guests watch. It shows your live activity, like a Tambola board, and hands the screen over to slideshows, promotions, and announcements when you send them.

Prerequisites

Before you start, you’ll need an event with a live session running, plus a TV or projector connected to a laptop, tablet, or streaming stick.

Connecting the Big Screen to Your Session

How to get there: Dashboard > Events > Live Session > Presentation Screen

1. Open Velora on the device attached to your TV or projector.
2. Select the event you’re running tonight.
3. Tap Presentation Screen.
4. Enter the session passcode if your organiser set one, then tap Connect.
5. Wait for the screen to fill with your activity. That means you’re live.

Once connected, the screen looks after itself. You control everything from your phone or tablet as the operator.

Tip

Set the display device to never sleep before the function starts. A projector that dims halfway through a Tambola round is the fastest way to lose a room of 200 guests.

Next Best Action

After the screen is live, most organizers:

• For Tambola or games: Open the operator controls
• For receptions and sangeets: Queue your photo slideshow

Switching Between Your Activity and Guest Content

Your main activity, such as a Tambola board, is the default view. When you push guest content from your operator device, the screen crossfades to it and then returns on its own.

1. Open your operator controls on your phone or tablet.
2. Choose what to show: Slideshow, Promotions, Ad Break, or Announcement.
3. Tap Send to Screen and watch the display fade across.
4. Tap Return to Activity when you’re done.

Note

Urgent content wins. If you send an Announcement while a slideshow is playing, the announcement takes the screen straight away, then hands it back.

Caution

Only content types your organiser has approved for this screen will appear. If a slideshow refuses to show, check that slideshows are enabled for this session.

Reading the Connection Indicator

A small dot sits in the top-right corner of the display.

1. Watch the corner during setup.
2. A red dot means the screen has lost its link to your session.
3. No dot at all means everything is healthy, so it fades away and stays out of your guests’ view.

Tip

Do a five-minute dry run an hour before guests arrive. Send one slideshow and one announcement, then confirm the dot disappears. Venue Wi-Fi behaves very differently once 300 phones join it.

Troubleshooting

“A red dot is showing in the corner” - The screen has lost its connection to your session. Check the display device’s Wi-Fi or mobile data, then wait a few seconds for it to reconnect on its own.

“The screen is stuck on the activity and won’t take my slideshow” - The content type may not be enabled for this session, or another operator sent something higher priority. Try again after the current item finishes.

“The passcode is not accepted” - Passcodes are case sensitive. Ask the event owner to re-read it from the session settings, and check nobody has changed it since your dry run.

“Guest content took over during a Tambola call” - Announcements interrupt on purpose. Ask your team to hold announcements until the round closes.

“The screen went blank mid-event” - The display device likely slept or locked. Disable sleep and screen lock, then reopen the presentation screen and reconnect to the same session.

“Two screens are showing different things” - Each display connects to a session individually. Confirm both are on the same event and session, not on a duplicate created earlier that day.
