Tree Home

Your family tree shows everyone you have added to a tree and how they connect across generations. It is the home base for wedding side-by-side family charts, guest planning by household, and keeping track of who belongs to whom.

How to get there: Dashboard > Family Trees > your tree name

  1. Open your tree from the list on your dashboard.
  2. Wait a moment while the tree loads. The tree’s name appears at the top of the screen.
  3. Scroll or drag the chart to move around larger families.

If the tree has no people in it yet, you see a welcome panel instead of the chart, with a prompt to add your first person.

How to get there: Dashboard > Family Trees > your tree > Add Person

  1. Tap Add Person at the bottom-right of the screen.
  2. Fill in the person’s details on the form that opens.
  3. Save. The new person appears in the chart when you return.

How to get there: Dashboard > Family Trees > your tree > tap any person

  1. Tap a person’s card in the chart.
  2. Review their details on their profile page.
  3. Use the back arrow at the top-left to return to the chart.

How to get there: Dashboard > Family Trees > your tree > top-right toggle

  1. Tap the display toggle in the top bar.
  2. Pick the view you prefer. The chart redraws right away.

Your choice only changes what you see. Nothing in the tree itself is added, removed, or edited.

“Something went wrong loading this tree” - Usually a patchy connection. Tap Retry on the same screen. If it keeps failing, close and reopen the app, then try again.

The screen just spins and never loads - Very large trees take longer on slow networks. Move to a stronger signal or switch to Wi-Fi, then reopen the tree.

I added someone but do not see them - Leave the tree and open it again to refresh the chart. If they are still missing, check that the person was saved rather than left on an unfinished form.

A person shows an ID instead of a name - Their name has not finished loading, or no name was saved. Tap the card to open their profile and add a name.

Two people should be shown as a couple but appear apart - The chart draws couples only once they are linked as partners. Open either profile and add the partner link.

I cannot see the whole family at once - Drag the chart to pan around, and add missing parent links so branches connect instead of floating separately.
