Relative Picker
Adding Guests from Your Family Tree
Section titled “Adding Guests from Your Family Tree”When you’re inviting family to a wedding, engagement, or Diwali get-together, you shouldn’t have to type every name again. The relative picker lets you pull people straight from your family tree into your event’s guest list in one go.
Pick a Relative Group
Section titled “Pick a Relative Group”How to get there: Dashboard > Events > your event > Add from Family Tree
Along the top of the screen is a row of quick groups. Tapping one filters the list below so you only see the people in that branch of your tree.
- Open your event from the Events list.
- Tap Add from Family Tree.
- Swipe the group row left or right to see all six options.
- Tap the group you want: My Parents, My Children, First Cousins, Maternal Line, Paternal Line, or Custom.
- Wait a moment while the matching relatives load.
| Group | Who you’ll see |
|---|---|
| My Parents | Your mother and father |
| My Children | Your sons and daughters |
| First Cousins | Children of your aunts and uncles |
| Maternal Line | Relatives on your mother’s side |
| Paternal Line | Relatives on your father’s side |
| Custom | Everyone in your tree, so you can hand-pick |
Select the People You Want
Section titled “Select the People You Want”Below the group row is a list of relatives, each with a checkbox.
- Scroll through the list.
- Tap any person to tick their checkbox.
- Tap them again if you change your mind.
- Keep going until everyone you want for this round is ticked.
Add Them to Your Guest List
Section titled “Add Them to Your Guest List”Once you’ve selected at least one person, an Add button appears at the bottom of the screen showing how many people you’ve picked.
- Check the count on the button matches what you expect.
- Tap Add.
- Wait for the confirmation message at the bottom of the screen.
Your selections clear automatically after a successful add, so you can move straight on to the next group.

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“No relatives found” - The group you picked has nobody in it yet. Try a wider group like Maternal Line or Custom, or add the missing people to your family tree first.
“Couldn’t add guests. Please try again.” - Something went wrong reaching your event. Check your internet connection and tap Add again. Your selections stay ticked, so nothing is lost.
The Add button isn’t showing - It only appears once you’ve ticked at least one person. Tap a relative in the list to bring it up.
My selections disappeared - Either they were added successfully, or you switched to a different group. Check your guest list to confirm before re-selecting.
The same person appears twice on my guest list - They were likely added once here and once manually. Open your guest list and remove the duplicate.
Names look wrong or unfamiliar in the list - Open your family tree and check that each person has a full name saved, then come back and try again.
