Controlling What Family Details Others Can See
Section titled “Controlling What Family Details Others Can See”Every person in your family tree has details like birth dates, places, and occupation. This screen lets you decide, detail by detail, who gets to see each one - so a wedding or Diwali gathering can share the family story without exposing anything private.
Setting Visibility for a Single Detail
Section titled “Setting Visibility for a Single Detail”How to get there: Family Tree > tap a person > Privacy
- Open the family tree and tap the person whose details you want to protect.
- Tap Privacy to open the full privacy page.
- Find the detail you want to change, such as Date of birth or Residence.
- Select the visibility level you want for that detail.
- Wait for the row to finish saving - the change is stored as soon as you pick it.
Each detail saves on its own, so you can set a few and leave the rest as they are. There is no separate Save button to remember.
Applying the Event-Safe Preset
Section titled “Applying the Event-Safe Preset”Getting ready for a mehendi, a reception, or a college reunion where the tree will be shown on a screen? The preset handles the four details people most often want held back.
- Open the privacy page for the person.
- Tap Event-safe preset.
- Wait for the confirmation message to appear.
- Scroll the list to see the four updated details.
The preset restricts Date of birth, Birth place, Occupation, and Residence in one tap. It leaves the other six details untouched.
