Face Recognition Settings

Keep your face on file with Velora so you’re automatically identified in group photos, event albums, and galleries. This setting puts you in complete control — enrol your face once, and toggle recognition on or off anytime.

Understanding Your Face Recognition Status

Section titled “Understanding Your Face Recognition Status”

How to get there: Profile > Settings > Face Recognition

Your current status appears in the hero card at the top of the screen. There are three possible states:

No face data on file — You haven’t enrolled your face yet. The system is ready to capture your facial features when you choose to enrol.

Face Recognition is active — Your face is enrolled and recognition is turned on. Velora will automatically identify you in event photos and galleries.

Face Recognition is off — Your face is enrolled, but you’ve temporarily disabled recognition. You can turn it back on anytime without re-enrolling.

How to get there: Profile > Settings > Face Recognition > Add Enrollment

If you haven’t enrolled yet, you’ll see the option to get started.

  1. Tap + Enrol Your Face (or the enrolment prompt in the privacy section below).
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to capture clear photos of your face from different angles.
  3. Ensure good lighting and avoid sunglasses or heavy makeup for best results.
  4. Once complete, your face data is stored securely and Face Recognition automatically activates.

Your enrollment status and active/inactive toggle are managed in the Privacy & Control section below the hero card.

  1. Open the privacy section to see your current toggle state.
  2. Tap the toggle to turn recognition on or off.
  3. Changes take effect immediately — no need to re-enrol.

How to get there: Profile > Settings > Face Recognition > View Face Data

You can review the facial data Velora has stored for you.

  1. Tap View Your Face Data in the privacy section.
  2. You’ll see thumbnails of the enrollment photos and metadata about when your face was registered.
  3. From this screen, you can delete your face data entirely if you choose.

Face Recognition requires your explicit consent. Your biometric data:

  • Is encrypted and stored securely on Velora’s servers
  • Is never shared with third parties without your permission
  • Can be deleted at any time
  • Is only used to identify you in photos from events you’re part of

Review the full privacy policy in the Privacy & Control section for detailed information about how your data is protected.
