create_event_page

The event creation wizard walks you through setting up an event in four steps, from the basic details to a final summary where you save it as a draft or publish it. It is designed for organisers running anything from a Diwali party to a 500-guest wedding or a college fest.

How to get there: Dashboard > Events > Create Event

Open in Velora{.velora-link}

  1. Enter the Event Name. This is what guests see, so keep it clear: Sharma Sangeet 2026 reads better than Function 1.
  2. Enter a Description covering the theme, dress code, or agenda.
  3. Tap the Next button in the bottom-right corner.
  1. Select the Start Date and Start Time.
  2. Select the End Date and End Time.
  3. Check the Time Zone. It defaults to India Standard Time.
  4. Choose the Location Type, then enter the venue details.
  5. Tap Next.
  1. Tap to open the Categories list and pick everything that applies, such as Wedding, Corporate, or Festival.
  2. Select the Visibility setting to control who can find the event.
  3. Review the Plan for the event.
  4. Tap Next.

Your event is created as a draft the moment you leave this step.

The summary shows everything you entered and adds the finishing touches.

  1. Select the Organizer, and a Co-Organizer if someone is helping you run the day.
  2. Upload a Cover Image. This saves on its own as soon as you upload it.
  3. Add Capacity, FAQs, Agenda, and any Attachments.
  4. Confirm the State for the venue.
  5. Tap Save Draft to keep working on it later, or Publish Event to make it live.

Open the event from your events list and choose to edit it. You land straight on the full details view. Change what you need, then tap Update Event.

  • Create Your First Event - a shorter walkthrough for new organisers.
  • Event Visibility Settings - who can see and join your event.
  • Managing Your Guest List - add, import, and track RSVPs.
  • Ticket Setup - pricing, UPI payments, and ticket types.
  • Adding Co-Organizers - share the workload safely.
  • Cover Images and Branding - image sizes that look good on phones.
  • Drafts vs Published Events - what guests can see at each stage.

“An event with this name already exists for the selected dates.” - Another event shares this name and date range. Rename the event or shift the dates.

“Please select a state for the event” - The state field is blank on the summary. Scroll up and pick the state your venue is in.

“Please select an organizer” - Every event needs one accountable organiser. Pick one from the dropdown before updating.

The Save Draft button is greyed out - Nothing has changed since your last save, so there is nothing to store. Edit a field to re-enable it.

“Loading event details…” stays on screen - The event is still being fetched. Check your connection and reopen the event if it does not clear.

The back button does not leave the screen - While a save is running, back navigation is paused. Wait for the spinner to finish, then go back.
