Choosing a Template for Your Community
Section titled “Choosing a Template for Your Community”This screen lets you pick a template that matches how you want to run your community. Whether you’re organizing a discussion forum, planning meetups, or building a learning space, templates give you a pre-built structure to get started quickly.
Selecting a Template
Section titled “Selecting a Template”How to get there: Community Setup > Select Template
Templates come with pre-configured settings, channels, and guidelines tailored to different community types. Here’s how to pick one:
-
Scroll through the template options: You’ll see six templates, each with an icon, name, and description.
-
Tap on the template that matches your community’s purpose. The card will highlight in purple, and a checkmark appears on the right.
-
Review the template details: Each template shows:
- Discussion Forum: Best for Q&A conversations and knowledge sharing (weddings planning groups, college fest coordination chats)
- Events & Meetups: Designed for organizing gatherings, activities, and in-person events
- Learning Hub: Perfect for sharing resources, tutorials, and skill-building content
- Showcase & Portfolio: Display projects, portfolios, or event highlights and get community feedback
- Support Group: Create a space for members to help each other solve problems
- Start from Scratch: Build your own structure with no pre-configured setup
-
Tap the Create Community button once you’ve selected a template. The button is greyed out until you choose one.

Common Questions
Section titled “Common Questions”Can I switch templates after creating a community?
Templates define the initial setup, but you can customize or reorganize your community structure afterwards. However, if you need a completely different approach, creating a new community with a different template might be clearer.
What if I don’t know which template fits my community?
Pick “Discussion Forum” if you’re unsure - it works for almost any community type and gives you maximum flexibility to add features as you grow.
Does choosing a template cost anything?
No. All templates are free. The template just organizes your community structure; pricing (if any) depends on your plan, not the template you choose.
