Edit Community
Edit Your Community Profile
Section titled “Edit Your Community Profile”Customize your community’s identity, permissions, and onboarding process. This screen lets you update branding, manage member screening questions, and control who can join and post content.
Update Basic Community Information
Section titled “Update Basic Community Information”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community
- Tap the back arrow to return to the main community view after making changes.
- Under COMMUNITY NAME, enter or edit your community’s display name (max 30 characters).
- Update your community’s profile photo by tapping the circular icon at the center — choose a new image from your device.
- Update the cover photo by tapping the banner area — this appears at the top of your community page.
Control Who Can Join (Visibility Settings)
Section titled “Control Who Can Join (Visibility Settings)”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > VISIBILITY section
- Scroll to the VISIBILITY section.
- Select one of three options:
- Public — Anyone can see and join your community without approval.
- Private — Only invited members can join. Your community is completely hidden.
- Protected — Your community is visible, but new members need your approval to join and view content.
Each choice displays a description explaining what members can see and do.
Add Your Community’s Location
Section titled “Add Your Community’s Location”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > CONTACT section

Under the CONTACT section, enter your community’s address details (all optional):
- Address — Street address
- City — City name
- State — State/Province
- Country — Select from the dropdown (searchable)
- Zip Code — Postal code

Tap Select country to open a searchable list of nations.

Type to filter countries and tap to select.
Create a Custom Community URL Handle
Section titled “Create a Custom Community URL Handle”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > COMMUNITY HANDLE section

Under COMMUNITY HANDLE, enter a custom URL alias (e.g.,
wedding-2025ordiwali-fest).- Use lowercase letters, numbers, hyphens, or underscores only.
- Length must be 4–50 characters.
- Cannot start or end with a separator or number.

The system checks automatically — you’ll see ✓ (available) or ✗ (taken) next to your entry.

If your handle is available, tap Set URL expiration date to choose when this custom link expires (required).

Select a date from the calendar — you can set it up to 5 years in the future.
Set Permissions and Content Controls
Section titled “Set Permissions and Content Controls”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > PERMISSIONS section

Under PERMISSIONS, toggle switches to enable or disable:
- Allow Sub-Communities — Members can create nested groups within your community.
- Lock Content — Posts and files are restricted; only approved members can access them.

Tap each toggle to turn the setting on (purple) or off (gray).
Block Prohibited Words
Section titled “Block Prohibited Words”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > RESTRICTED WORDS section

Under RESTRICTED WORDS, enter prohibited words separated by commas (e.g.,
spam, abuse, harassment). -
Members will not be able to use these words in posts, comments, or messages.
Add Onboarding Questions for New Members
Section titled “Add Onboarding Questions for New Members”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > ONBOARDING QUESTIONS section

Scroll to ONBOARDING QUESTIONS (shows question count).

To add a new question:
- Tap + Add Question to expand the form.
- Enter the Question Title (e.g., “What’s your budget?”).
- Enter a Property Name (auto-generated from title or customize it).
- Select an Input Type (Text, Number, Date, DateTime, List, or Boolean).
- If selecting List, add options by typing and tapping +.
- Toggle Required if members must answer this question.
- Tap Save to add the question.

To edit an existing question:
- Find the question in the list.
- Tap the edit icon (pencil) on the question card.
- Modify any field and tap Save.

To delete a question:
- Tap the delete icon (trash) on the question card.
- Confirm the deletion in the popup — this action cannot be undone.

Save Your Changes
Section titled “Save Your Changes”How to get there: Community Home > Settings > Edit Community > bottom of screen
- Review all changes you’ve made.
- Tap the Save Changes button (purple).
- Wait for the confirmation message — “Community updated successfully.”
- You’re automatically returned to your community home.

Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”“Community name is required” — You must enter a name before saving. Enter 1–30 characters.
“This URL is already taken” — The custom handle you chose belongs to another community. Try a variation (e.g., add a year or location).
“Failed to update community” — Your connection may have dropped or you don’t have permission to edit. Check your internet and try again.
“Question updated successfully” but changes don’t appear — Refresh the page by swiping down or closing and reopening the community settings.
Members can’t see restricted words blocking posts — Restricted words only prevent creating new posts. Existing posts with those words remain visible.
Expiration date field is required but hidden — You must enter a custom handle first; the expiration date only appears after you fill that field.
